A former member of the Armagnac Resistance battalion and later Senator for Gers, Abel Sempé shaped the house with his strong character and values. Today, Sempé remains dynamic, innovative, and accessible, producing authentic Armagnacs that respect the ancestral savoir-faire he championed.
Heritage
Sempé is one of Armagnac’s most known houses. It was founded in 1934 by Abel Sempé, a Gascon tirelessly working in the service of his country and region. He was a recognised member of the resistance for the Armagnac batallion then Senator for the Gers for many years. Since his death, Sempé is a reflection of his character.
